When a lot goes wrong, you need to know where it went
Chemical trading carries a liability that most trades do not. A lot that fails is not a return — it is a recall conversation with a factory buyer, and the first question is which drums from that batch went where. The books have to be able to answer.
- Batch on stock movements
- FIFO valuation
- Multi-warehouse
- E-way bill
- Bill-by-bill outstanding
- Audit log
What makes this trade different
The batch is the unit that matters
Two drums of the same product from different lots are not interchangeable to the buyer. Stock tracked only by item name loses the one attribute with consequences.
Movement is regulated and documented
Industrial dispatch means vehicles, values and paperwork that has to exist before the truck leaves — not reconstructed the following week.
Factory buyers pay on their cycle
Terms are long and negotiated per account. Exposure to one buyer builds quietly across invoices until it is uncomfortable.
Cost moves with the market
Input prices swing hard. Valuing this month’s stock at an average of the last two years is a way of not knowing your margin.
Features that exist, doing the actual work
Everything below is in the build you can download today.
Batch, manufacture and expiry on stock movements
Stock journals and delivery challans capture batch number, manufacture date and expiry date, and the Stock Ledger shows them — so tracing what came in under a lot is real work the software does, not a register you keep alongside it.
FIFO where it is the honest answer
Set FIFO per item so consumption follows the lots in order rather than dissolving into an average. Valuation layers are written on every inward movement regardless of mode, so switching method later needs no backfill.
Multi-warehouse across yard and store
Stock tracked per location with proper movements and valuation behind it, so a segregated store is a real position rather than a note on a wall.
E-way bill and e-invoice from the voucher
Generated from the same voucher that created the dispatch, so the document and the movement cannot disagree.
Bill-by-bill exposure per buyer
Credit limit and credit days on the ledger master, ageing per invoice, and receipts allocated against specific bills. Exposure to a large account is a report, not a feeling.
Immutable postings and a tamper-evident audit log
Posted vouchers never mutate; corrections go through reversals. Privileged actions land in a hash-chained audit log, which makes an out-of-app edit to the file detectable.

Questions
Chemicals & Industrial Supplies — questions, answered
If a lot fails, can I trace which drums from that batch went where?
Stock journals and delivery challans capture batch number, manufacture and expiry date, and the Stock Ledger shows them — so tracing what came in under a lot as it moved through the godown is real work the software does, rather than a register you keep alongside it.
Input prices swing hard — can I value stock by the actual lots?
Yes. Set FIFO per item so consumption follows the lots in order instead of dissolving into a long-run average. Valuation layers are written on every inward movement regardless of mode, so switching method later needs no backfill.
Can I keep a segregated store separate from the main yard?
Yes. Multi-warehouse tracking follows stock per location with proper movements and valuation behind it, so a segregated store is a real position rather than a note on a wall.
Is GST — e-way bill, e-invoice, GSTR-1, GSTR-3B — included for industrial dispatch?
Yes, in the single plan. The e-way bill and e-invoice are generated from the same voucher that created the dispatch, so the document and the movement cannot disagree, and GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B read those same vouchers.
Can I see my exposure to one large factory buyer?
Yes. Credit limit and credit days sit on the ledger master, ageing is per invoice, and receipts allocate against specific bills — so exposure to a big account is a report you open rather than a feeling that builds quietly across invoices.
Can I detect an out-of-app edit to the file?
Posted vouchers never mutate — corrections go through reversals — and privileged actions land in a hash-chained audit log, which makes an edit made to the file outside the app detectable.
