Inventory & stock
Set up items, item groups and units; track stock across warehouses with stock journals and delivery challans; and manage job-work rates.
If your business deals in goods, Acronix Books tracks stock alongside your accounts so quantities and values stay in step.
Items, groups and units
- Items are the things you buy and sell. Each item carries its HSN/SAC code, tax category and default rate, so invoices tax it correctly.
- Item groups organise items into categories (for example Raw material, Finished goods) for cleaner reports.
- Units of measure (pcs, kg, metre, box) define how quantities are counted.
- Tax categories group items by GST rate so tax is applied consistently — see Tax setup.
Warehouses
Track stock across multiple warehouses (or godowns). Every stock movement is attributed to a warehouse, so you always know what's where — useful for businesses with more than one storage location or shop.
Stock journals
A stock journal records movements that aren't a straight sale or purchase:
- Transfers between warehouses.
- Manufacturing consumption and production (raw material out, finished goods in).
- Adjustments after a physical count.
Keep stock and books aligned
Because inventory and accounting live in one app, a sales invoice both reduces stock and posts the accounting entry in a single step. There's no second system to reconcile.
Delivery challans
Use a delivery challan to move goods without immediately raising a tax invoice — for example, goods sent on approval or for job work. Challans can later be converted to or linked with an invoice.
Stock valuation
Acronix Books values stock by either weighted-average or FIFO (first-in, first-out). Set the default method per company and override it per item where a particular line needs the other. Every stock-in is recorded as a valuation layer, so you can switch method without rebuilding history.
Job-work rates
For manufacturers and textile job work, job-work rate masters store the agreed rate for each process or job. This makes billing job work fast and consistent, and the Job Work Register keeps a clear record of material sent out and received back.
Stock reports
Inventory feeds a dedicated set of reports — Stock Summary (quantity and value on hand), Stock Ledger (movement of an item over time) and Party Stock (stock held against a party) — alongside the Job Work Register. See Reports & exports.
